In August 1924 Kazi Nazrul Islam’s Bhangar Gaan was published.  It was a book of poems.  Soon after it was published British government banned the book claiming this set of poems as anti-government, anti-establishment and intended to incite violence.  Nazrul was arrested.  Since then “karar oi louho kopat” not only inspired the Bengali nation to protest against the tyranny of the British Empire but also perpetually motivated later generations to stand up and fight for their rights.
